We first started making our artisan soap in a shop in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. We used a small-scale laboratory machine, producing soap right in front of clients. Everything was made on site. We then added to our manufacturing facilities with a workshop behind the store, which meant we could work with business customers. At that time, we were producing around 100 kg of soap a day.
In 2005, amid growing client interest and increasing demand, we moved to larger manufacturing facilities in Plan-d’Orgon. Then in 2007, we started offering soap customization to all our clients. This was an immediate success, with products manufactured on contract accounting for 90% of sales. We complemented our soap bars with the launch of our first liquid soap range in 2010. 2015 saw La Savonnerie des Alpilles grow again with the addition of a second production line at another manufacturing facility nearly 2000 m2 in size. Next we developed our range of cosmetic products. A third production line was added in 2020 at a 3200 m² facility in Cabannes. We now have the capacity to produce up to 7 tons every day.
We offer three product ranges: standard, white-label and tailor-made, depending on our customer needs and the size of the production runs. Choosing to use one of our existing formulas means you will benefit from a shorter time to market and lower product information file costs. We take the time to discuss your requirements and understand your brand, company and values, so we can offer you tailor-made products with carefully selected ingredients designed to meet your needs. We work together to decide on the shape and packaging for your soaps or cosmetics. We also offer on-contract manufacturing and a full-service option. A fully bespoke product will take around six months to be market ready. We are also flexible, meaning we can fully adapt to our clients’ needs.
At La Savonnerie des Alpilles, nothing is more important to us than the sustainability and quality of our products. And our philosophy is all about working in harmony with nature.
We choose ingredients that are both environment and consumer-friendly. And our organic, eco-friendly soaps are Ecocert® certified.
We make all our soaps and cosmetics in Provence, helping the region’s skincare legacy live on.
Trust is key. We see our clients as partners, and we work closely together, providing exceptional service and helping you develop your creations.
